Exhaust page help!!!. Reply #5 – December 29, 2006, 01:52:53 AM those are the same tailpipes I ran on my '85 Cougar, cheap, but it gets the job done. I just cut off the hanger welded towards the ler, and used those universal hangers at CTC.Now just get the drivers side, and you are all set. Then weld some nice chrome tips on it. Quote Selected
Exhaust page help!!!. Reply #6 – December 29, 2006, 02:59:53 AM Hello ! 1WLD BIRD.Yes, I'll cut the hanger plate on the stang pipe, cauz the Bird is hang by the ler, I have an hanger I pulled off on another bird/cougar at the syard last year, I'll install on the right side of My car, and this hanh the ler on the car...For the hanging rod at the end of the stang pipe, I'll take the one is on the old pipe in the pic, but before all of this, I'll lenght the stang pipe (the new pipe on the floor on the pics), I'll weld with a mig, that's all...For the rear out of the car, I'll probably put a little chrome "Y" pipes, or a rectangular end chrome tube, I'll choose this at the end of all...First, I'll cut My front "Y" pipe, and run straight from the down pipes to the lers...My left pipe is the same diameter of the stang pipe I have, and it's virtually new, I installed the complete new single exhaust last winter and have around 3-4000 miles...I'll keep My stock ler for the left side, and purchase another one for the right side, I guess the output sound will not bad for a V6...I don't need a very louder sound, just a twin exhaust, I make My own twin exhaust on all of My past car, and I'll love that!...I'll post the pics of finished works when I'll done and an stereo audio file of that IF I like the sound...
