Isn't there somthing that should be here!

I got the whindsheild replaced in the bird a couple of days ago. I have a pic of my car with my brand spanking new 100% perfectly clear window installed. It only cost me $145.00.

The time when you had the windshield out woulda been a great time to replace the front speakers without hassle.

On the older ones, you replace the dash speakes from the top as well?

On the '83-'86 they're both snuggled up close to the windshield.  On the '87 '88's the DS speaker is snuggled and the PS is easy to get to.  I'm just basing my comment on the  of a time I had doing my speakers in my cars.

Yep I love the glass cleaner they used. Its called glass no more. LOL Any how arent the 83-84  dash speakers mounted from the bottom? I think so if you look at the pic you'll see that those grills are part of the metal piece infront of the dash pad.

That metal piece comes out with the dash pad.
You've obviously never had it off before ;)

The dash speakers are replaced from the top on the 83-84's

A 7mm box wrench works wonders on that DS speaker.

Only if someone hasn't replaced them with round-head phillips screws, though.  Ba-zing!  That's why I bought one of these for the next time I have to tackle those:

So chuck does that metal piece have to come out to take the dash pad off? Just wondering I was thinking about taking the dash pad off and covering it. I know buy the dash cap. What if I don't want a hard plastic finish.
