need to raise the rear please help..

I need to raise the rear of my TC, when I have a full tank of fuel the rear of the car really sags and with the way they put my exhaust in everytime I go over a bump the rear comes up and smacks them.  I tried 94 convertible mustang springs but they seemed to lower it a bit maybe I should of asked before I started gathering parts.  does anyone know of a set of springs that would raise the rear of a TC?  Thanks, Graham

How did you figure that one out? :nono:  :giggle:

Back to the topic, I was curious about those convertible springs.  I have the front lowered with Suspension Techniques, but have the normal tbird springs that ford sells in the back.  Do those springs lower the ride any?  Also, do they stiffen up the ride any?  The springs I have in the rear now feel pretty bouncy compared to the front, and I would like to find a new spring for the rear to stiffen up the ride.

I second that motion. Been using the same pair of Moog coils since 1993...on 3 different cars...currently residing in the convertible, which is really heavy due to the subframe connectors from hell, plus all the stiffening/tubing/convertible top stuff, plus the stereo equipment in the trunk. Ride height is perfect, ride is very acceptible. I think they're about $125 US/pair last time I checked.

what kind and how much? I have found that the upper passenger control arm was loose on the differential end and wore a slot in the bolt hole. :(  I hate finding these things but then its better for me to know now than to have something serious happen down the line..

Eric, I thought you or someone else here said they don't make/sell cargo coils anymore?

I would love to pick the ass end of my '89 Mark up a bit.. even on an almost new spring conversion kit the ass end sits a little lower than I want it to, and I emptied the trunk out weeks ago. One thing I regret about not having the air suspension anymore.. :(

I don't know if they're under the Moog brand anymore, but it seems TRW makes heavy-duty variable rate springs with the same part number as the Moog ones:

Part No.
CC823
TRW VARIABLE RATE SPRINGS TRW

they are CHE fixed uppers and adjustable ride height lowers. take a look at their website. they are about 320 for the standard finnish, 350 for custom. i got mine with no finnish so i could powdercoat them a custom color. they still have no finnish on them. i can have them pc gloss black, black wrinckle and i think silver for free but it would take about a week for me to get them back. i have them listed for 275. if you are interested in them and serious maybe we can work something out. take a look at CHEs site and look them up.

I am using the CHE arms for that purpose as well. Well, I also use them to raise the rear to clear the 28" drag radials so they don't hit the inner fender.

It looks like Autozone carries these variable rate rear springs as well.  It appears the be the same part number, and they match up when I pull up a different car.  This should be pretty good considering there are only Autozone's around here.

CC823-moog cargo coil is what I ended up using.  I now have the ride I want and the aproximate ride height that I was looking for.  but I think it could be a bit higher.
