Climate Control?

A friend pointed out to me that my car has the litle vent in teh middle of the dash( on top) for climate control, but jsut has a reg heating/cooling set up. If i'm able to get the CC set up changed out with the reg set up, will it work?

Actualy your friend is wrong.  The "vent" on top is for the overhead light sensor if your car is so equiped with autolamp.  The "vent" is there even if you don't have autolamp it just doesn't house anything.

Now there is an opening for the cabin temp sensor..  If you look at your center bezel at the top just under the edge there is an opening.  That is for the ATC.

Now to retrofit.... by far the hardest electrical swap to be performed for a cat/bird.

Why would you want ATC? My car has it and it works fine, for now. I hope nothing goes wrong with it beacuse parts are hard to come by and it's a pain to fix because of those  servos and  behind the dash. :flame:

Is the ATC system in the Mark VII the same as the birds? If so I know alot of the Marks came with it. And that would most likely be your best bet for spare parts.

I noticed that too. The head unit looks the same but I don't know about the stuff in the dash. I'd have to look into it.

That's for your auto-dim on the headlights...the dash cover on top hides the auto-on sensor...or else where it goes if you don't have it.
