Rattling noise? help

Took the bird(87 lx) on a trip last weekend and made the exhaust leak into an exhaust flood. anyways... had to replace a  and did the other one too and the sleeve cuz they were all rotten.

this was done 3 days ago, and it made my car much quieter.

yesterday i noticed a bit of a metal rattling sound, coming once in a while from underneath the engine somewhere, and now its worse, and then today it went away for a bit...

thought maybe a pipe was touching something, but then i thought maybe it could be a loose heat shield falling off? or maybe somethign else thats fallin out?

im taking it in asap, and if it is a shield of some sort, i was just wondering if it is ok to s it all together. do you really need it?

thx guys
you da best

if it is the heat sheild, u can either rip it off or put a big hose clamp around it, it doesnt really matter if its there or not. hopefully it will be a quick fix like a sheild, but it could be worse... the cat could be coming apart inside. while your underneath the car, and u either fixed or "fixed" the sheild, tap on the cat and listen for any rattling, if u still hear a rattling inside, that the honeycome  falling apart, and u may need a new one, or put up with the noise and hope u pass emmisions.:hick:
