Front Strut Lengths w/ Max Motor Cast/Camber

Put in the TBird Maximum Motor Sports Caster/Camber Plate today & the threaded strut shaft won't make it thru the bearing enough to get the nut on it.  This is with using no spacers on the strut shaft.  Seems like the strut shaft needs to be 1/2 inch longer.

I had the jack under the coil spring cup, jacked so the car was actually lifting, so the sping was definitely compressed.

Anybody have this problem?

I have no name struts, does anyone have the measurements of the strut extended?  Want to make sure I'm not doing something stupid before laying out more cash hoping new struts will fix the problem.

that's peculiar. that was the final reason for me buying MM C/C plates. the Mustang struts were too short to get the nut on. are you certain that there are no spacers under the c/c plates on the shaft? are the c/c plates bolted down snuggly? you could disconnect the strut from the spindle and push it up in there to make sure that it's just the spring doesn't want to compress anymore.

those are about all the mistakes i made. hope that helps.

Ive installed the MM caster/camber plates and have had no problems. I would check to see if the strut is all the way up and no restrictions are present. Also double check the spacers, something is not right and its not the strut length.

I tried it again, and after having the car sitting on its tires, the strut came right thru as everyone said it should!  :)

I think it was a few factors:
  1)  just didn't jack up the spring cup enough
  2) new springs and only just recently had weight on them
  3) Even on the other side, it seemed to help if I put the tire back on & let the arm get loaded, then rejack up the spring cup.
  4) And lastly, my "What can go wrong next attitude!"  :disappoin

Thanks
