cam selection

what cam should I put in my GT40P 5.0 that I'm building? stock torque convertor...3.08-3.55 rear gears...I'd like an all around decent cam *hydro roller* for the street and strip
'83 Cougar *the never ending project* warmed over 306 v8,c4,8.8 posi with 5 lug conversion
'91 mustang strictly street-in progress
'00 f150 7700-Mean Green: jet stage 1 chip,ported upper intake with 1" spacer,'04 Super Duty intake with injectors,summit racing short tube headers with true 2.5" duals with smithy's glasspacks!

either a stock 87+ cam or an E cam.  about the the for street strip.  either those or call up the cam companies, theyll help you out alot.

This one will work nicely if you're gonna go Mass Air.  The lobe separation is a little close for Speed Density......

You could also go with Crower part #15511.  It has a little more duration and lobe separation than the cam in the above link with a little less lift.

If you're gonna go with 3.08's and the stock convertor I'd go with the Crower.

Man it will sound good. You can’t beat the way a carburetor sounds especially w/a cam. Fuel injection is the best way to go all around except one thing. It runs on a little after you get off the accelerator and corrects the cam.
