WTB- Door Striker bolt July 26, 2006, 05:29:21 PM I'm looking for the door striker in good shape (as in the plastic bushing is intact and good) for the TBird. This is the part that bolts to the chassis. The bushing is totally gone on mine. Also, if you have the proper "HELP" part number instead that would be good too. I picked one up the other day and it looked like it was correct, but the threaded stud portion was too big.Chuckchuck@turbochuck.com Quote Selected

Now the doors close just like new and they were free!!I remember Claude telling me about that. He also mentioned the 4-door Escort or Escort wagon. The reason for the 4-door? The rear door strikers should be in much better shape than the fronts.I replaced one of the strikers on my '86 with one from my '96, believe it or not. Quote Selected
WTB- Door Striker bolt Reply #5 – July 26, 2006, 08:06:37 PM Well like I said, I checked the HELP section and the one that fit "most Ford cars" didn't fit. It looked like the one in the car, but was not. Quote Selected
WTB- Door Striker bolt Reply #6 – July 26, 2006, 08:12:41 PM Well doing some digging on the web, the HELP part number is 38445. It differs from my stock on though in that it kind of a "fence" at the back of it whereas mine is just the striker bolt. Quote Selected
WTB- Door Striker bolt Reply #7 – July 26, 2006, 10:36:19 PM If I remeber right that extra piece just slides off and you only use the bolt part out of it. I'll double check at work and try to post on here at lunch normally about 1pm central time. Quote Selected

Also the tempo part number is 38445 M10-1.50 , it also has that extra piece that you throw out. Also if you just need the plastic bushing part you can order 38424 that is a package of those bushings Quote Selected
WTB- Door Striker bolt Reply #10 – July 27, 2006, 04:26:33 PM Chuck, I just went through the exact same little frustrating thing as you with the Help brand's bolt being too big...I just ended up getting a new set from Ford for both my doors. They were about 12.00/each, whick I know is pricey compared to the Help brand, but I was tired of not being able to find the right part! Quote Selected
