That doesn't look to bad. But I tell you to go about it in a differnt way. You can convert your car to 5 lug 4wheel disc with parts from the salvage yard. check out cool cats. Also the EFI harness and intake the salvage yard. maybe not the cobra r but I bet you could get a whole 5.0efi motor with computer to put in there.

for 5 grand all your gonna get is better brakes. get an 86 up 5.0 harness from cougar/tbird. But a rebuilt engine or pull one for cheap and get it machined. Then add $1,000 trickflow heads, stock ho/other cam, bigger throttle body and then intake and add MAF. Now you spent 3-4 grand and you have a fast car. Then drop $200ish at the junk yard and now you have decent brakes and a fast car.

Those are my recomendations, specially if you got $5000 laying around. Otherwise, its hard to save up $3000 for brakes.......
The H.O. you can at least but all the parts individually.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Right now I have $30 in my pocket, thats it. These are plans. So you guys think HO EFI engine. What about a card setup. I would have more options and maybe alittle more power. Any Idea's on that?

i have that brake kit listed for sale, minus the vac booster/mc and ebrake lines for pretty reasonable price. those are 13" cobra brakes, not cobra r. same with the intake. cobra.

i have a computer and maf harness for sale as well. way cheeper than frpp.

i have those brakes on my mustang and they would absolutely devistate the stockers. totaly worth the money.

i wouldnt consider UD pullies withought a 3G alt upgrade.

you are going to want to do something about the stock suspension.

you could squeese in more than that stuff for 5 grand. shop around. dont be afraid to buy used but be smart about it.

convert that thing over to 5 speed and HO! get the intake later. its gonna do squat on the SO.

whatever you "think" you are going to spend, add at least 50% to that and if you are lucky, you will be close. i was pretty supprised at what i had into my car for parts.

yeah, but get a used harness from a tbird at a fraction of the cost. or , go with a detail zone harness or painless or something if you realy want to spend the money. why spend that kind of cake on something that ford mass produced and can be found pretty easilly....

what size wheels are those? they will need to be at least 17 inches to fit over those brakes. actually, why not just get Bullitt wheels instead? I'm sure they are cheaper.

Is that the $30 you saved by not driving 15 minutes to hang with everyone that drove for 9-18 hours to hang out with you and the rest of the board members?:flame:

Good point...

For me it was a points racing weekend...  After I skipped on the nephews graduation last month and went racin', I sure wasn't going to be able to make CJ 500 miles away... Maybe next year when the 347 is in the car...

Whats a card setup?  I think its pretty hard to setup cards on end so I would lay them down in a stack.

Carb setup, not card. I can't type. I got called into work on sunday so I ended up not going. I wish I could have just to get to know some realy nice people and get some knowlage but it just didn't work out like that. Honestly, what would be in the better intrest of the car? EFI H.o Swap, Fix the CFI or go to a carb. I'm just exploring the options I have before I devote the time and money to one and find out it's not a good idea. Those wheels are 15x8's. I might just go 17" Bullitts.

Cheapest & easiest is going to be a carb for you, man.  It might not give you the best fuel mileage, and it might not be perfect for cold weather, (and a lotta people will tell you not to do it because it's technically a 'downgrade') but it's the easiest way.  I even have a 4-bbl manifold I can sell you for cheap.

Unless you want to wait till winter or so and then you can have my old CFI harness because by then I'll be putting the carb on.  Maybe sooner, but I'll definitely have it by then.
