I don't know if anyone has seen this yet,

or if this is even in the right forum, but I stumbled upon this today.

6 days and no bids. Decent enough car, but I know a lot of you are silly enough to like louvers, and nearly have a fit when you see a set on our cars. Look.

So someone on here, that's closer, buy this nice little gem (with a perfect interior, and 5-spd) and get your louvers while you're at it. I may even be able to stand looking at them if they're on that car.

:hick:

Repairing a lock cylinder that is frozen or sans keys requires a drill, gumption, and a midget on a tricycle.

"Mack 1 Special edition bright red"

Because of the special Mack paint, it's probably got a reserve of $4500.  Mack paint is more durable than your average car paint, you know.

Thats supposed to be Mach 1 special red paint... One of two colors from the Tbird spring '88 sales campaign... Same as my red TC. Other color was a pewter silver-bronze which I've only seen one...

TurboCoupe50,

This cars vin # is 229452, and was invoiced on June 21st, I have seen another Bright Red Mach 1 and it's vin is #229422, it was invoiced on June 22nd.
I'm curious, how close is your VIN # to these two?

Yeah, which makes sense, if his VIN # is right in there. It wouldn't confirm it, but it would be one more nail in the coffin. ;)
Since the rumor is that there were 500 cars built, my guess is that they were done in batches. Maybe they were built all at once, but that seems like it would have been a lot of cars to do at one time. Would have been neat to see though either way.

I believe the buck tag date(on radiator support) is 06-23(which should be the build date) mine is 228385... Interesting the date on my white TC is 06-06 and it is 228955. So a car invoiced 570 units later was built over two weeks prior. Cars in general are not assembled in sequence of vin number. Ive seen another red TC like mine and it was 228910, just 45 from my white one(if I remember correctly it's buck tag date was 6-21)...

AFIK there was no special prep required for the paint, so likely they were built in small batches... My red TC is equiped virtually identical to my white one(basic TC with the 157A package). My white one has automatic, lighted entry and premium sound with EQ as additional options. The other red one I saw was basic as well(I believe it did the graphic EQ).
