Door arm rest July 17, 2006, 03:56:56 AM My driver side door wont close properly unless I push it up while closing so I'm getting my door pins changed today. But, the other problem I have is the arm rest on the door falls off now when I close it (not the complete thing, just the pad above the handle). I've tried putting stuff in the pins to keep them in but they only work for a'lil while and then it falls off again... anyone else ever have this problem? if so what did you do to make them stick? I'm trying to avoid glue as much as possible...What I've tried so far: I took out the plastic pins and stuck little cut pieces of a paper clip through the skinny side so they'd catch once pushed through the holes. This worked for awhile until i tried closing the door with no luck...alsoIf someone has a set of the door arm rests in solid condition(no cracks, not pealing) out of a black interior T-coupe i'll buy them because mine are also starting to peal back off the metal a bit (tried glue, no luck :S) Quote Selected
Door arm rest Reply #1 – July 17, 2006, 08:32:51 AM Not sure about the 88 model but the 83-84 has metal clips that hold the armrest pad on. They hold it on pretty good. Maybe you don't have the right clips or you need some new ones. Also I'd try some trim and emblem adhesive on the arm reat pads to make the pad stay on. Quote Selected
