Catalytic Converter Removal

If I was to remove the catalytic converter from my car and replace the empty space with a piece of pipe, would this cause any problems with the engine or anything?  I don't think it would but I just thought I would make sure since there is that tube going down to it and all.

i dont think so i want to eliminate mine when i do my duals but i need to pass emissions one more time in Dec but after that they are gone and im going to weld the sheilds for them on the pipe so it looks like i have them. if you dont have to pass emissins i say go for it but dont throw them away in case you need them late for the law.

Alrighty then, sounds like a plan...I live in Indiana and I never heard of anyone getting in trouble with not having them so I will go for it.

Yes, you can run without a catalytic converter. It won't hurt a thing.
That tube you can rip off along with the other smog stuff connected to it and the smog pump. You can plug the holes in the back of the heads and remove those tubes as well.

It's just that your car may or may not pass emissions. It depends on your state's standards.
