Coach light mod December 17, 2004, 10:28:44 PM I finally got around to taking a picture of this mod. The hole isn't perfect and needs some sanding grinding to make it perfect but here is a regular C-pillar emblem that we all have: Quote Selected
Re: Coach light mod Reply #1 – December 17, 2004, 10:34:16 PM by the way, it's mounted on a c-pillar Quote Selected

That is awesome!!!Did you swap out the badge for the earlier model one or just modified the earlier one to accept that badge? Thanks! That is an '88 c-pillar emblem with a piece of very thin lexan behind it. I came up with that idea when I had all this lexan sitting around my house because I was working on other mods. Here is a pic I took when I first got the lexan in the mail. I stuck it on a box. This mod can be done on anything. I suppose you could use a piece of electroluminescent lighting in the same manner and save yourself from having to cut a big hole in the pillar. Quote Selected
Re: Coach light mod Reply #4 – December 18, 2004, 08:33:14 AM that came out pretty good, is that on the LS? Quote Selected

Coach light mod Reply #10 – August 04, 2007, 01:31:43 AM Mercury-man, here is the thread. If the mods can't restore the pictures, I can upload new ones.Remember, this is what I was talking to BEARMAX about. This isn't a fix for factory coach lamps. This is a mod using regular emblems that saves from having to find the coach lamps. Some folks have been able to repair the coach lamps. I've never had a pair so I haven't been able to fool around with them but the electroluminescent market is becoming broader giving us more opportunities to fix these things.Oh, and welcome to the board! Glad you signed up! This message board is quite a resource. Quote Selected

Remember, this modification is for those folks who don't have the coach lamps or don't want to use them in various spots for whatever reason. This mod would be perfect, for instance, for what BEARMAX was talking about. He wants to add coach lamps to some areas on his car but doesn't have any factory coach lamps.I have entertained the thought of doing this mod to the C-pillar logo on my green '85. I'm still undecided. This mod can be done anywhere though as shown by the picture with the cardboard box.As far as fixing the factory lamps go, I have never owned a set so I have not been able to fool around with them to see what could be done. Eric has a write-up here which I think you already found:http://www.coolcats.net/stockmod/modified/coachlamps.htmlSome other people on this board may have found other ways to fix factory coach lamps, I don't know.
