If you have any ideas of how to save this let me know. Right now my current hope / dream is to take the Ploice package .50 out of my vic and put in in the Fila. you really need to ugrade to the later CFI,, that one is rare in and unto itself IMHO.  I have that exact CFI now but i quickly hacksaw'd off the vac operated idle contol assmably.  I still have the vac cansiter.  I also got rid of the chock pull off device.  That whole unit there is a prime example of out to over complicate a good idea.  The CFI is simple yet yours like the one i found on an 82LTD horrified me.

There isnt a single thing on those CFI's i have not seen, tried or tested and there are others here who have done the same.

First off just ask for diagrams you need and ill post them.  My bet is someone was trying like hell to trace out a problem with no spark and ill lay money either your TFI or your Stator assmebly is shot.

Now,, i have a question for you mister,,,,,,,,,,WHat are you doing running green top injectors on a 5.0?  Your suppose to have blue tops!

AS of now this car is as if came from the factory. I have only traced wires and my freind's dad never worked on her. Just tune up's and simple stuff. When whe was with the black guy for 2 yera, I have no clue. All i know is when we went to buy her back the harness and engine looks like it does now. I have most of the schimatics I just hate working on somethinf so simple that one dame wire can keep the whole thing from running. But please, Help me continue my insanity.....

Changing the subject a little... Where did you get those 5.0 police specs???? EVERYTHING I've seen on those state they have the SO 5.0 with dual exaust otherwise they were same as everyday civvie models...

The hot dog was the carbed 5.8 that was still available for Police work.

Yeah, the police interceptor package was nothing more than a couple of stiffer suspension pieces.

And what the hell is CIF.. You've called it that on every post on the board.  Its CFI..  Central Fuel Injection.

On, one I type fast and I raly don't look back. So sometimes it comes ouf CIF insted of CFI. I got the specs from another guy who had one. The 351 blew for the lase owner so he put in another H.O. 5.0 out of a Police Vic'. I assumes it was close so I went into a book of mine and looked up power for a 90' H.O. and thats what it said. So whats what I put. As for the wiring I just put a NEW battrery in it and checked all of my ground. Still no power what so ever. So now i'm checking all of the power lines. But I've only had her home about a week. If you all know of a better way to do this, please Email me at Blueovalboy010689@yahoo.com or Pm me here. Anything to help woulr be grealy needed. As for my insanity, I think I like it

I may get shot for saying this but how about taking all that CFI stuff out and repalcing it with a 4bbl carb and intake? If you want to modify the car the CFI won't let you do much. That or go to a roller SEFI 5.0 HO from 86 and up. Either way you'd be able to easily modify the car to make more power.

Myself... I could have that mess soldered back together and running in a day..  I'm sure a few other guys like thunderchicken and masterblaster...... etc.  could do the same.

Do you know what DVOM stands for?  Do you own a DVOM?  If you don't close the hood and step away, your not going to get anything done.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

No I don't have one but I know what it is. I do have another car so it's in no hurry to get done. I'm pretty much trying to wing it with schimatics and some hope. If I could get another harness I would but I can't seem to find one. If you guys have any ideas let me know.
