oil clearance

I found an interesting specification in my shop manual,,, ford calls out the limits on oil bearing clearance to be .0005 - .002 on the rods and mains.

I always thought .006 was the max. its no wonder just a hair could lock up a bearing cap.

@.006 you would have almost NO oil press.
