Installed new goodies over the weekend.

Over the weekend I had a lot of fun. I tore the engine down, got rid of the 2 barrel carb, installed a mild Crane cam, don't remember the specs off hand, new (read used) E7 heads that had new springs and valves and a little work done on the exhaust side. New Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and a 650 CFM 4 barrel Edlebrock carb. with electric choke. I don't have any in-process pictures because I forgot to take the camera with me, just the end result. For the most part it was a direct swap, just had to adjust the AOD kickdown rod a little.

I have available a Ford intake a 2 barrel carb if anyone is interested.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

What heads?

E7 with the exhaust side opened up a little. Also I have the headers that originally came on the mustang, plus dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40 series dual chamber lers, and no cats.

Well, you might be able to tune it and get it to be "ok", but just as a reference point...a 600cfm carb is good up to about 400-425hp.  In order for you to really get that thing spot on, you may have to drop a jet size or two on the primary...it's amazing how much performance can be lost when you're running too rich...do you have an A/F meter? If not, I'd recommend getting one...it can be a great tuning tool.

The 575cfm Carb would probably be best for that motor.

Yeah, but it was a smog compliant carb with tiny jets.
