Engine light turned off!

Ok, so I was going to start up the cat for a routine trip into town yesterday when I noticed I had no power. Of course knowing my battery is still in good shape, I did what anyone would do and checked to see if I left my lights on. Nope.

Ok what next. Well I was going to need a jump obviously. So I asked around and got a friend to bring over some cables. We waited for a good 5 mins, and I tried to crank it up. I was getting full power and it was turning over good, but not starting. Ok.... I waited for 5 more mins, and tried again. Nothing!

This time I took a little bit closer look at the battery, ok positive, negative. Wait, where is the ground! It seemed to have dissapeared! I looked around and lifted the battery, and there it was. How it got under there I have no clue, but it was all freyed. I stripped it and secured it tight to the battery. The car started right up!

Ever since I have noticed better idle, no strange bog down at acceleration, and most of all the engine light is off now! I guess the ground was just barely hanging on to the battery. I feel stupid haha.

those tricky grounds.. get over looked all the time.

Disconnecting the battery can reset the computer and clear the code(s). I'm not sure if this is entirely true for the Fox bodies, but I know the MN12s work like that.
Don't be surprised if the light comes back on in a few days.
