my best idea yet June 04, 2006, 03:32:38 PM ok i have an idea. im gonna try and find a supercharged 3.8 from an XR7 and throw that in the tbird. that should be pretty fast. now i just gotta find one. i mean they are 210HP. but just add on your simple bolt-ons (kn air filter, exhaust, spark plugs) then you should have a beast of a v6. but then again it is gonna be real hard to switch over. so i dont wanna get ahead of myself Quote Selected
my best idea yet Reply #1 – June 04, 2006, 05:40:21 PM yeah, it's a lot of work, but it's been done...more to it than just "throwin' it in there" though...do a lot of research...it's not a simple drop in-and go swap...a guy here has the SC 3.8 in his Cougar... Quote Selected
my best idea yet Reply #2 – June 04, 2006, 06:56:43 PM If you have no emmisions, a carber 3.8 would prolly be alot cheaper, if you just want to get it done. Some day I may do the same that you are planning to yours. Quote Selected

It will obviously fit the car, just the wiring will need to be sorted out, and even at that it's not that big of a deal. Quote Selected
my best idea yet Reply #4 – June 04, 2006, 08:51:59 PM Look up "Spazpuppies" - he's a member of this forum with an '88 Cougar that has the SC in it. I wouldn't mind doing this swap myself, except I swore an oath that I'd never own another Ford 3.8... Quote Selected
