i need some not workin on the car therapy

i recently bought my 87 TC to begin a project. i am currently livin in an apt and cannot easily do major car work. the plan was to rent some space to work on it. then we decided to move. our new place has a 2 car garage, YAY!! :headbang:
heres the problem; i got a car, and a stack of parts but no place to work on it and we dont move till the 24th. :brick:
lookin for some help. maybe if i can talk about my project, i wont feel so bad about not gettin to work on it...
so heres the list of parts i have to throw at it, feel free to discuss

front:
tubular k-memeber/control arms
bilsteins from 03 cobra with 400lbs coilover kit
04 13" cobra brakes
poly bushings everywhere
CC plates
strut tower brace

rear:
modded 99 cobra IRS
poly diff bushings
delrin control arm bushings
00 cobraR springs
bilsteins from 03 cobra

drivetrain:
lots of goodies for the 2.3T
ploy motor mounts
poly tranny mount
poly tranny crossmember bushings

other misc:
6 pt cage
thru floor SFC's

still need to gather a few odds and ends parts for final assesmbly, but all the big parts are present and accounted for. now if i can jus get moved then i can start :sawzall: and :welder:

so, i am gumby, and im a addicted to modding. anyone wanna help me pass some time thru group therapy?:screwy:

Hey how are you planning on getting the IRS to work? I have heard it is almost impossible.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

It's no small task, but it can be done.  I'm planning the IRS out back as well.  I've looked at a Cobra's setup and got scared...lol...so good luck to ya.

how about taking before and after pictures? when i had a parts buildup i was waiting to install, i had everything orginized, excell spread sheats, constantly researching parts and things i may need. if i could do it again, id have more pictures.

i think most are more scared of the unknown.

nate - you should see my notebook :giggle:  it has three different lists in it to try and keep everything within my budget.
things i NEED to get it back on the road
things that would be nice before it gets back runnin the first time
things i really want, but will probly hafta wait till a later date.
theres also pages of notes i have collected from researchin different parts and interchanges

there will be plenty of pics before, during, and after the build up, not to worry. most everything is packed up for the move already, but the pics i have so far are here:

Yeah, Cobra IRS will bolt into a Fox Mustang (uses the control arm pickup points on the chassis on the '99-04 Cobras after all), so you'll need some slight tweaks to make up for the slight differences in length between the cars, but otherwise it should go right in.

BTW- That's a definitely pile of parts you're throwin at that thing!

Yes, living in an apartment sux.  Even if i wanted to tear my engine out and rebuild it i'd have to lug it up a set of stairs!  i even got a spare car to take the T-bird off the road but i just don't have the space or a garage to do it!  And i doubt the landlord wants a t-bird on jackstands leaking fluids and taking up space.

It's cool that you found a place to fix your need.  I too know what that need is.  Mine is mostly money though.  I got all the ideas i need but i'm lacking a bunch of GOFAST parts.

I know about the modding addiction....trust me. :hick:

Once you get settled in the new place I'm sure you'll be going hog wild.

You always have to live on the total opposite side of town though. :p

I bet we could work out a deal for an extra pair of hands a couple days in exchange for dragging a car back from NC ;)
