cone filter

so instead of going out to buy a cone filter intake setup i figured id make my own. i had a 6" cylinder K&N filter and i bought a cold air intake from walmart for a civic- it was on clearence for 10$, it even came with a smaller cone filter.

i cut the elbow off of the civic  inlet pipe, cut the elbow off of the stock rubber inlet for the t bird and used the elbow as a transition for throttle body and the pipe, slid the cone filter right on and secured its little strap to the air box stud

it cost me a total of 10$

heres some pics:D

once i cut the pipe and use 2 couplers to switch to the MAF setup itll be longer and line right up with the air hole in the fender. ive been waiting to do my cobra intake, throttle body, and gt40 heads untill i get the MAF done.

Couldnt you have bought a foot long piece of exhaust tube from a shop for like $2?

that peice is plated aluminum so it wont rust. and technically i didnt just buy it- i used it on my truck befor i got rid of it it fit perfect. you can use a straigh 3" peice of aluminum, stainless or PVC pipe

looks good, i like that you actualy mounted the filter so it dosnt wobble around everywhere like alot of cars have. and around where i am, its a 3" ID pipe 18" long and their around 5$  i was thinking something similar for the tc once i get it on the road.

yeah it was one of those deals where it was ont he clearence rack for like 9$ so i got it sold the cone filter from it for 10$ to a kid i work with for his honda. i got the K&N filter from a used car at work so in the end it cost me nothing but 1 work clamp. i was happy to see the stock air tubes 90 bend to fit it perfect like that. better than spending 60$ on a mustang one on ebay to me.

i also put plugs, some taylor wires, new TFI module, msd cap on today. its running pretty decent. just gotta finish making my MAF setup so i can do the heads and intake then itll atleast be somewhat quick not buick quick though:D
