cooling issue.
ok I was setting the timing and making sure everything is firing right and all on the 5.0 that just went in the car. anyway in just a couple minutes or so the water outlet the upper radiator hose hooks to on the motor was hot enough I near burned myself.
Is this normal for these motors after theyve set for a bit?
I checked the coolant in the radiator its fine. i found out the oil was almost like water so it got changed that may have been alot of the problem...... also I had a fusible link blown to the alt that seemed to have made a world of difference in everything when I changed it...
Could that run a sensor or something that would cause the engine to heat up that fast? I noticed there was a sound of crackling metal right after shutting it down and since the link got changed it doesnt do that anymore.
Could that have been it?
