Pedal assy questions, auto to manual

ok i have an 84 cougar with 3.8 v6 and the c5 column shift.. i am wondering several things....  first off.... i am swapping in a 2.3 n/a with a Srod 4 speed.  can i swap pedal assy and still use the column shift (until i get 2.3 and srod installed) and.... the ignition will have to be rewired for duraspark system with the ballast resistor etc.  how can i bypass the Nutral Start Safety switch? i am basically wanting to trim ALLLL extra unneeded  out of the car so... as far as the NSS switch can go if i can bypass it. any other electronics n what not.  also.... i beleive the length of the T-5 is almost .75" longer than srod trans.... will the t-5 cable work for the srod transmission?  well.... i see this came out all jumbled... lemme list the questions,

can i swap pedal assy and still use the column shift?
how can i bypass the Nutral Start Safety switch?
will the t-5 cable work for the srod transmission?

I think that will be all for now..... thanks

It's been a while, but my 83 Tbird was a column shift car, and I think you should be able to leave the column shifter in the car, but when you pull it out, the steering column boot will have a bit hole in it that you will probably want to close up.

As far as the NSS goes, there should be a pigtail attached to the trans that plugs into a harness on the chassis.  Most of the "bypasses" are just another plug with the NSS wire looped back onto itself.  Also in that wiring is usually the reverse light circuitry as well.

The speedo cable should work.  Again, it's been a while.  My car was a 5.0/AOD, then a 5.0/SROD then a 2.3T/T-5....and I don't think I ever changed the cable.

I don't remember on the clutch cable.  I made some other mods at the time as well and don't remember if I changed cables or not.
