bucking? Reply #2 – May 27, 2006, 11:55:04 AM Yes, first step is to scan the car for codes. If you are unable to do it or have no clue how, AutoZone can scan it for free. Quote Selected
bucking? Reply #3 – May 27, 2006, 02:08:57 PM i thought u can only scan for codes if the check engine light was on?? and if it is the motor wouldnt the rpms go down when it bucks? cause they dont i dont know if theres a delay with the dig dash or what Quote Selected
bucking? Reply #4 – May 27, 2006, 03:24:06 PM When you say bucking, does it feel like the car wants to downshift but doesnt? Kinda like is it stuck choosing what gear it wants to be in? If so, my old Thunderbird had the same problem. I think we fixed it by changing an o2 sensor, but I may be wrong. It's been a long time since I've had that bird. Quote Selected
bucking? Reply #5 – May 27, 2006, 03:27:53 PM no its not when shifting its when giving it gas Quote Selected
bucking? Reply #6 – May 27, 2006, 10:36:37 PM Your check engine light does not have to be on. There could be error codes floating around that won't trip the light. So far for my car, the only time my light has come on was when I had a cut in a vaccum hose. Quote Selected

bucking? Reply #8 – May 28, 2006, 08:18:15 AM I just had a friend (Jason, don't remember his screen name because he has not been on due to his computer having problems) that had a bucking problem at low speed. He replaced the distributor and tfi which had solved the problem. This was in a turbo coupe that had been coverted to 5.0 with a 5 speed. I can't say that this is your problem but just trying to help. Quote Selected
bucking? Reply #9 – May 28, 2006, 10:16:50 AM You could always drop the exhust and take aquick run down the street just to test if you have some sort of exhust blockage. My Turbo coupe did this when the CAt was plugged. It would start and idle fine but as soon as you gave it gas it would cut out and not wrap up. Quote Selected
