Not a fox but what I've been workin on lately

Hey guys.  Been awhile since I've been on here but I've been busy with a new job so free time is hard to find.  Thought I'd post a pic of what I helped create this past winter.  Its my buddy's '87 GMC Sierra.  It started out as a fleetside bed 1/2 ton.  We swapped out the axles with 3/4 tons (4.56 gears), put in a 6'' lift kit, re-did the interior,  put on an 8' stepside bed (the only one I've ever seen), and then he had it painted.  It sets on 35X14.5 Super Swamper TSL's.  Its the same color as the new Dodge "Daytona" pickups.  Like I said its not a T-bird or Cougar but I don't have the money to spend on my car right now (saving for an engagement ring ugh:giggle: ) so I have to get my fix by working on other people's rides.

See I need a friend like you to come over and help me work on my car and Jeep.  My friend is the least mechanically inclined and most impatient person I think I've ever known when it comes to doing anything to a car.

Nice truck, by the way.  Looks like it was done right.  Who did he have paint it for him and how much did it cost?  I like the color.

Wow!  I love that color.  And, you know, that will make the SECOND longbed stepside I've ever seen.  I'm amazed you found one in good shape that didn't cost a mint.  I remember hanging around over at 73-87 chevy truck forums for a while and it seemed the consensus that it is indeed a very rare bed.  Very impressive.

What is the name of that color? Almost looks like Sunset Orange Metallic.
It's Gumby's fault.

I'm not a big fan of huge jacked up trucks, but like almost every kind of vehicle customization, there is a correct way to do it (for me to like it anyway).  That truck is a perfect example.  Nice!

The color is the same from the new Dodge "Daytona" pick ups.  As far as that bed goes he bought it from a friend but it required some serious modification to get it to where it is now.  Originally it had a wood floor but now its all steel.  Looks really sweet.  Yeah he has blocks in the rear but he is adamant about not having a "spring lift" in the back.  Just his personal preference.  He thinks it rides better this way but all the old Chevy's like that one ride like shiznit from the factory so I don't know.  The truck now is more of a show truck so its not like its going to be a problem as far as four-wheeling goes.  Thanks for the response guys.

sorry to shiznit on anyones feet here but iam about to rant . But first I must say that is a nice truck . Now to the rant. IF YOUR GUNNA BUILD A 4X4 DRIVE IT LIKE A 4X4 . If you want a show truck slam it to the ground slap a set of 20"s on it and spend 20 000 on ur paint job . i dont see the point in spending all that money just to trialor queen it around . let me guess the price for building that truck ...uhhh $22 000 canadian .... if i spend that on any vehical i want to drive the fruits of my labor . IMO show trucks suck ,GET IT DIRTY!

Rant done: Please continue your regular activitys , thank you  and good bye

Its a friends truck, 1993 3/4 ton, and thats as clean as it ever gets lol we were just playin in the ditch in front of his house, it got messy later though, ended up blowing a bogger jumping it in a mud hole which sucked. He sold it and is building up a 77 F-250 now, it currently has a 3" suspension and 3" body lift, were ditching the body lift and going 10" suspension, he wants 40+ tires on it :D he collects trucks I collect cars lol
