question about my 87 tbird turbo coupe

I have 87 tbird turbo coupe about 120,000 miles on it.  Recently, my water pump and radiator were leaking.  I went Napa and got parts.  On the way to Napa, my engine died.  I started the engine again, it started but died again.  As long as I put a gas pedal on, it is idling and running.  But when I stop at traffic light or wherever I stop and ease gas pedal off, the engine dies.  This morning, when I started engine, it started but to not keep idling; I have to put my feet on gas pedal to keep running.  Does anyone tell me what causes this problems?  As I read other threads, it seems that IAC valve is clogged or air is leaking somewhere.  Are those possible causes?  But I don't even know where IAC valve is locating or where to check air leaking.  Please help me.  Thank you.
I originally wanted to ask about this question.  I tried to replace water pump and radiator by myself.  A guy at Napa told me that it is easy to do by meself.  But I have no idea how to release the timing belt.  Are there any web sites teach me how to instale water pump and radiator.  Thank you.
