Installed my Pro 5.0 Shifter today

I just wanted to let all the 5 speed guys that are still using the stocker that the Power Tower is worth every penny. It just clicks into every gear now. The stockers 3rd gear notchiness is gone. The only issues I had were that I needed a 1/4" drive (3/8 is too big) 13mm with a U-joint to access the front shifter bolts. Also the rubber gasket retention plate wont clear the shifter ring so I left it off and just installed the rubber gasket and secured it with the screws and fender washers. Also if you buy one of these type shifters I highly recomend spending the extra $25 to get the dust boot that fits over the ring and stop bolts.

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) I bought the car with the 5 speed already in it. I'm not sure if the clutch switch is installed. I haven't tried to start it with the clutch released. I always push the clutch in out of habit.

When I bought my tower of power it came it a diagram so you could cut out the factory rubber piece to fit over the shifter ring. I also use the factory metal plate to bolt the rubber down. This was in my 84 T/C. Of coruse it already had the 5spd so maybe that is the difference.

my clutch switch is hooked up like this...

tranny in neutral it will start or tranny in any gear with clutch in it starts...

So I run the switch on the clutch pedel assy and the switch on the tranny in parallel with the two wires that go to the neutral safety circuit on the car... So either switch (or both) will allow the car to start.
