86 ignition wire woes May 11, 2006, 03:54:23 PM On my '86 Cougar, I'm looking for the wire coming out of the lower end of the steering column that is only live during the engagment of the starter. 86 ignition wire woes Reply #2 – May 11, 2006, 08:15:07 PM Well the best place I can tell you to find it would be to trace it back from the selinoid next to the battery. the small wire that most of the time has a push on connector. mine is white i believe. Quote Selected
