Windsor sr decision???

I have a set of windosr sr heads that I have taken in to a local machine shop to get done for my everyday driver. These heads need $460 - $560 machine work (not including parts). These need to be resurfaced, complete valve job with guides, and spring seats / landing touched up. Parts will cost about $250 for complete set of valves and valve springs. What would you do? Would you find another set of heads (gt40, stock e7, etc...) or continue with the windsor sr?

Windsor Sr's are nice heads, doesn't sound like too bad a price to get them taken care of.  I would probably do that, but it's ultimately up to you...for a few more bucks you can get even nicer heads.

So for $800 you can have those heads redone. For an additional $200 or so (probably less on eBay) you can buy a set of brand new, fully assembled aluminum heads. Lighter, cooler, less pr0ne to detonation (allowing a higher octane), and probably flow better. I think I'd go the aluminum route...

You could almost get a brand new pair of Windsor Sr. heads from Summit for the 800 you'll spend fixing yours.
