Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #1 – December 10, 2004, 05:37:27 PM if you lower your car a bit you'll likely need caster/camber plates so you can adjust your wheels and not look like a ricer.and I think there was a topic about the cobra r's in this same section... Quote Selected

Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #3 – December 11, 2004, 12:28:47 AM Anyway mine is lowered about 4 inches and i didn't need the caster camber plates. I used ford racing springs, summit part number FMS-M5300C. If you have a 232 then you will need to cut half a coil off the front springs to make it sit level. A warning: If you lower your car you will mess you body kit up! Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #4 – December 11, 2004, 02:19:24 AM yea i know there isnt a way i can drop it an inch or 2? n thanx for the comment on making it look like a ricer, my name kinda does imply it, but i want to keep my bird as domestic looking as possible besides stuff like system and trunk and , i just like rice cars, thats all the name is for. Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #5 – December 11, 2004, 07:16:46 AM Do you have a 3.8 or a 5.0? If you have a 5.0 then i believe you can use turbo coupe springs to lower it slightly. I don't know if it will lower a 3.8 any. Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #6 – December 11, 2004, 10:01:38 AM i have a 3.8 :barf: im sure there are some springs out there, but what are the difference between springs n coilovers? Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #7 – December 11, 2004, 10:23:16 AM there arnt any springs being currently made for these cars anymore, eibach anf ford motorsports used to make springsi havnt done it, but ive heard by using stock springs from a 94-98 stang with a 3.8L, it should lower your car about 1.5-2" Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #8 – December 11, 2004, 10:25:25 AM The fox body cars use springs not coil overs. If you had an MN12 you would use coil overs on it. The difference is that coil overs are mounted on the struts and regular springs are mounted separate from the struts. I will take a pic of my 87 and my 90 to show you the difference. Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #9 – December 11, 2004, 10:37:40 AM coilovers They do make coilover conversions , but they are quite pricey. :ies: Look for Johns331 in this link. Quote Selected

Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #11 – December 12, 2004, 12:14:39 AM the thing is, the stock stang springs should lower it 2", the lowering springs are what lower it a lot Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #12 – December 12, 2004, 01:00:02 AM well if i want to go between 2-3 inches around there would those work, cause im pretty sure ifim a good 3 inches off the ground i can make it over speedbumps right? Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #13 – December 12, 2004, 08:57:46 AM you might make it over, but remember, when you come down off of a speed bump, the car droops down below its ride height for a moment, and would most likely bash your ground effectsthen youll also have to be very careful of parking blocks Quote Selected
Re: ahhhhh i need help Reply #14 – December 12, 2004, 09:04:39 AM Have you considered just cutting your stock springs maybe 1 to 1 1/2 coils. Use a cutoff wheel, not a torch!! Quote Selected
