who makes the quietest lers? what about the loudest? i know i saw a chart before compairing lers according to their DB rating but i cant find it. this might be a good sticky if it works out well.  im looking to quiet mine down alot so its not as loud in the car anymore. i have a set of mac's... think they were rated at one db under the legal limmit.

Hey nate, don't know what the quietest are, but when I get back from South Dakota in roughly 2 weeks, I'll have Moroso Spintech's on my car...I'll have to start heading back out on saturday nights...I'd offer up my Dynomax Super Turbo's to ya, but I might need them for another project.

LMAO...no, I'm done with her now.  Needless to say it's hard with elevated gas prices and no job!  I really wanna start coming back out though...we'll see what happens when I get back.

I concur with the Dynomax Super Turbos. They start out quiet and get a bit deeper as the fiberglass degrades, but they won't get louder, just deeper.

I've found that they provide a nice bass tone without too much noise...and if you're running around catless as I am, they go from deep rumble at idle to a ripping scream near redline all the while still not being too incredibly loud.

it all depends on how much you want to tone it down..

it you want to really tone it down then get the dynomax hemi turbos..

i had then on my car a long time ago.. ask anyone on this forum that has seen them on my cougar.. when i had them i my cougar you could barely hear the cam lol.. sometimes i think about puting a set back on my car only thing is with a blower car they have to much back pressure and kills about 20HP.. but on a N/A car it should'nt matter..

but i would say back in the day it was fun having those lers on the car..people used to think i just put B/S tags and fat tires on the car and use to laugh at me so i used to tell them you go first then!!!!:rollin:

Yeah about any kind of "turbo" ler will be fairly quiet...

Quietest would be maybe a 70-series flowmaster, or an RV ler, but those are both huge lers.

I have Flowtech Afterburner lers on mine and they aren't that loud. It's pretty quiet at idle and they make the most noise while accelerating. They seem to drone a bit at around 2,000-3,000 rpms but they are fairly quiet while driving. They also seem to have pretty good flow. Between the inlets is just a big chamber and that's it.
