Anyone here into Airsoft?

I just picked up a gun this week and some buddies and I went out last night to  go shoot each other up.  We had a blast.  Any of you guys here play at all?

The gun I got is a Glock 23 replica.

My brother has had three of them, but they keep breaking. He had an mpk5, assault shotgun, and has an m16 I believe. I prefer paintball. That is a fun game.

I have  Tippman Model 98 as well, and to be honest, I just enjoy the variety and realism involved in Airsoft.  Paintball has the replica guns, but they still aren't just quite the same.  I still enjoy shooting the paintball gun, but I seriously see myself getting way more into airsoft.

I don't play airsoft anymore but I still have my gun.  It's a custom M4 type rifle.  It's also CO2 powered and not an electric.  It works pretty much like a paintball gun, except it uses magazines instead of a hopper.    It will lay down some serious fire on full auto too. :macgun:

I used to play all the time. I had a Tokyo Marui M4, Classic Army M15RIS, three KSC G18C's, TM MP5RAS, and a G26 and G26C. I sold everything but one G18C that I use to kill spiders and bugs. Once my Coupe project is done, I'm going to get a STAR M249 and a TM MP7.

I just shot one of those MP7's today, it's a pretty nice little riffle.  Have you ever had any trouble with the fire select switch on those G18C's going out and it only being able to shoot full auto?

No, mine isn't a full auto version.  I was told that the saer (sp?) pin wears out real fast and that it'll only shoot full auto after that.  Not like it's really that much of a bad thing.

I play paintball, not airsoft.  I can't really say which I prefer since I've only played paintball, that's a real blast.  We usually play in open woods areas and avoid the fees of established places.  How does air soft compare to paintball?  Same, better, or just different?

Well, its probably relative to the player.  I like both, I like airsoft just a little bit more.  Airsoft has a huge range of products based off of real world weapons, and since I like realism, it tailors to me.

Airsoft is a realistic sport whereas paintball could be considered an arcade type sport. Paintball, you dump 200 balls into a hopper and fire 9 balls a second. Airsoft, you have a magazine with 68-100 rounds and maybe 2 rounds a second on a good gun. I've played paintball once and Airsoft hundreds of time.
