Tried some Factory 93 Cobra wheels and Cobra R's

Basically the 93 wheels are 17x7.5 with approx 6in BS, they are close in the rear but hit the strut in the front. The 17x9 Cobra R's are the same since they also have 6in BS, I am convinced that if you were to use a small spacer you could run either of these wheels combos without difficulty.

Real Cobra wheels have wierd offsets and won't even fit other Mustangs very well.  There is a guy over at http://www.corral.net that is almost ready to offer normal offset Cobra replicas with various options.
2000 Jaguar XK8 Convertible - 4.0L DOHC V8 (AJ27)
2018 Ford Explorer - 3.5L DOHC V6 (Duratec 35)
1999 Mercury Grand Marquis - 4.6L SOHC V8 (Modular)
1987 Mercury Cougar LS - 5.0L V8 (Windsor) [SOLD in 2009]

Well, what you are doing is pulling those wheels in as if they were to fit under a Fox Mustang.

The 93 Cobra used the TC rear axle/brake assy and then used a different rotor on the front with a 3/4" taller "hat".  They had to then pull the wheels back in under the car.

What you have done is pull the rear wheels in 3/4" per side and the fronts much more than that if you take into consideration both the factors involved (shorter rotor hat and more backspacing)

The Cobra R 9" wide wheels have almost the same backspacing as the 93 Cobra wheels, but are also made to be used with different spindles/hubs which push the track out a bit more.

The 93 Cobra wheels are a bad choice for Fox Tbirds/Cougars ...

Yeah, '93 Cobra's are definitely different, however they just don't look right.  At the same time, Cobra R's are really overdone, in my opinion.

I think if you switch to the mustang front spindle/brake assembly then the 93 wheels would likely fit fine, the Cobra R would fit but like was said they are overdone, but looked awesome on my black car!!!

I am egerly awaiting the Corral guy to finiish this but Im not holding my breath.

Ummm..no.  You would need the sprindle/caliper AND rotor assy from a 93 Cobra (the rotor is different) and then they would clear the strut...but they would still be pulled in 3/4" per side over stock.  With them 1/2" wider than "stock" it might not appear as such, but they would still be pulled in.  Not the best thing for any kind of handling to narrow the track....

The 9"-wide Cobra R's look better fitment-wise even with the same b.s. as they are 1.5" wider and thus don't look so silly tucked in under the car like the 93 Cobras do....
