Woo Hoo! Credit Card Free!!

my wife and i paid off the credit cards. feels great to have only the normal bills now. i will NEVER run up a credit account again. we will have the vehicles paid off in 2 years so we will only have our mortage and household bills and car insurance.

Cool congrats :) i know how you feel. I just paid everything off alittle over a 2 years ago. Now everything is done with cash... If I don't have the $$ for it I just don't buy it..

Its funny cause I'm able to buy more stuff when not using credit cards.. It was nice walking into bestbuy a couple of months ago with $3300 bux in my pocket looking to buy a new HDTV :)

I have another solution to not letting the credit card thing get too out of hand.. I just keep one card with a small limit.. $500 in this case. Unfortunately I maxxed it out trying to get stuff to make work easier (more comfortable shoes, etc.) just before they fired me.. but if I get back into a better situation again and return to having it as intended, I think it'll work fine for me. The intent was to have an emergency reserve for things that came up that were potentially bigger than a paycheck. (car repairs, doctor visits, etc.)

I don't see myself getting more cards, and I don't see myself looking for a higher maximum balance on the one I have. Even now with the  thing maxxed out, my minimum payment is only $11 a month.. so I'm not feeling too much stress over it yet. Feeling far more stress over not working and being bored out of my f'n mind, and being pretty screwed up physically lately. Been on a healthy diet of Ultram (probably why I'm rambling on right now.. hah) and blood pressure medication the past month or so. Fortunately I have some family help in getting to the doctors and trying to iron all this out, so I can get back to a condition where I can handle working full time again. (got fired for taking too many days off because the job was running me into the ground)

Congratulations dude.  I'm headed that way myself.  Not quite there yet though.  About another year of payments to go.

when i closed them out, one company was trying to get me to keep it. she said you NEED a credit card, not every store takes cash or checkcards. i told her i guess i'd have to go to another store then. she kept saying over and over that i need to have the card. pretty funny.

I dont have a credit car, woohoo! Wait I'm in debt though, becuase I'm in high school and can't afford to get caught back up with car payments after some horrible spending fits on my car. Im selling one now:( And my tax returns STILL arent back.
