Junkyard Find w/ Pics + Hello!

Stopped by the junkyard and finnaly found a turbo coupe that still had the hood. :hick:

I've been looking forever.

It's in great shape, got it off an '87, someone had already pulled all the goodies from the engine though.

Just 1 small dent,

A couple scratches, And a small bend along the driver rear edge.

Now i just need to modify it to fit my 3.8/V6. :D

BTW,
I'm the newbie around here, I just recently found this place and signed up, Beware. :yuck:

I have a "semi-junker" Midnight Academy Blue 3.8L FI V.6.
It was last driven on the road in 1998 or so, We got it for the cost of towing in late 1999.
At that time, It supposedly just needed a battery and new exhaust.
It's been sitting covered in the back yard since then, Last time it was started up was about 2003.

I've now acquired the Age, Time and Place/Area to work on it.
I enjoy reading about all of your "Birds" and "Cats" and im learning a lot more than before i found this place. :giggles

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Yep, turbo coupe hoods are not rare.

Loods like you found a shiznitty one (but still a TC) there! Just fix the scatch and dent and you'll be ready to roll!

It's an '84
Like i said, it's a bit of a junker, right now at least.
The previous owner didnt take very care of it, And didn't apparently know how to do body work/primer work.
It needs some body work on the passenger side rear wheel well, it managed to get what i would call a crease.
The paint is shot, and its a mix of primer and factory midnight blue.
As well as having the side moulding removed, and some residue left over.
It's not much to look at right now, But i'll post if you all still want to see. ;)
This is my first car, And i see alot of potential in it, And have many ideas of what i want to do with it.

Took me a long time find one around here, Even with a pretty steady flow of birds coming in to the wreckers.
I wasn't thrilled that it was red of course, But i can work with it.
The underside cover is in very poor shape, I'll have to replace it, Is this interchangeable with that of a regular style hood? (Customizing for the induction vents of course).
