You going to do anything to it while you got it craked open?  New gears perhaps?  Or since it's out of the car entirely just throw in a TC rear end from the TC at the junk yard?

there's only about a half a dozen man made objects that are herd by the human ear below 40Hz,a pipe organ, thunder, the space shuttle lifting off,a jet airplane taking off or landing,a large canon,an atomic bomb ignited in your back yard and the heat wave afterward oh wait you would be dead so you would'nt hear it scratch that!,and maybe beating your hear against a wall less then 40 times a second..rap music is'nt one of them!thats 40-60Hz@100+db the moving air is under 40Hz

I'd disagree with that, I had a 7.5 Trac-Loc in my Mustang Dominator, raced it off an on for over 2 years, with several different kinda of tires (but no slicks) the rear held up till I sold it, and he drove it for 3 more years, with no problems..
I ran the piss out of it, too
Maybe I had a good one, I dunno :giggle:

I have almost 350 HP in my yellow 86' cougar and my 7.5 has had no issues at all. It's posi traction though, so maybe that helps a bit, and I've banged it pretty hard sometimes. Of course, I don't hit it hard everytime i drive either, it's always the AOD that goes out on me. The 7.5 w/4.10's are up for sale by the. I'm switching over to the 5 lug 8.8, but not because of the 7.5 rear. If interested, let me know.

I've gone through two 7.5" s with a stock '86 TC/w 5spd.  The 7.5=suck.
