Reply #1 – April 29, 2006, 03:34:13 PM If he has the original CD (actually DVD) that came with the computer (or the original OS bought from the store, whichever), you can reinstall the OS and opt for español for the main language. The keyboard mapping can also be selected for español under the Apple Menu > System Preferences > International. Come to think of it, that may be the place to try the language switch first. Let me know if that works...that would save him a lot of time. Quote Selected

G4 Laptop... Reply #3 – April 29, 2006, 11:13:45 PM Well, glad to hear that worked for ya. You'll definitely like the machine. Speed is relative...if the PowerPC processor is up to the task then it's fast enough. :)For the admin password...put in the original CD/DVD, restart the computer, and hold down the 'C' key. That will boot from the disc. When the main screen comes up and asks about the language, go up to the top and select File > Reset Password. This allows you to set the master admin password for the computer's main account. From there you can select Restart and after the reboot, the new password should work. This is the only way to change the master password. If you don't have the CD/DVD then you can't change it visually. It may be possible to change it via Unix commands but I'm not familiar with that. For Mac info:http://www.macupdate.com (software, shareware, freeware, updates)http://www.macfixit.com (problems, issues, notices)http://www.macintouch.com (viewer mail with problems and fixes, community collaboration)http://www.powerpage.org (Powerbook/iBook information)I maintain all of my Macs myself and have a lot of experience with OS X, so if you need anything don't be afraid to ask.
