Did the cam come with a CD or anything?  If so, it probably has those drivers you need.

im not sure if its gonna be this or not but is this a brand new memory card? and the first time using it? or is it a old memory card? cuz i know old ones just wear out over time and new ones may not be formatted corectly for your camera.

Just to make things a bit clearer....

but if i have the memory card in
Do you mean the card is in the camera, and the camera is connected to the computer by cable, or the card is out of the camera, and in a separate card reader?

What works like normal, the camera or the computer? And what did you take the card out of?

the drivers to use the camera as a card reader are not funtioning. also try settings on the camera to pull the pictures to the camera memory or to set the carera to be the interface to the card.

best guess would be to dig up that cd and use the lil' program that came with the camera, that should let you view pics on the card.

Was that the DSC-405?

http://www.dxgtech.com/product_jpg/DSC405.jpg

...or the DXG-409?

http://www.dxgtechusa.com/ (stupid FLASH page)
Products (top menu)
Ultra Compact (on the right)
DXG-409 (second cam at the bottom)

Depending on the model the camera should have built-in memory, plus external memory (the card).

I think the camera initially stores the pictures in the built-in memory, with the ability to transfer them to the card (if you tell it to).

According to the 409 manual...
If a memory card is in the camera, all functions will be memory card related. If you want to use the internal memory, just remove the external memory card.)

Maybe there's no pictures on the card because you haven't moved them, so when connected via USB there's nothing there to find?

Here's some other info I dug up......

Manual and drivers (for the DXG-409) on this page:

http://www.dxgtechusa.com/Support/downloads.html

http://www.dxgtechusa.com/Support/Manuals/English/dxg409_eng.pdf (1.2MB)

http://www.dxgtechusa.com/Support/Drivers/DXG-409.exe (1.3MB)

Excerpt from page 41:

.Connecting Your Camera to Computer

1. Move the 5-way scroll button to the right, press the confirm
button to enter the SETUP menu and then move the 5-way
scroll button down and enter the USB menu. Set the USB
 Mode to Mass Storage .

2. Connect the USB cable to your camera and PC.

3. Once connected, the portable drive will be detected and shown
on the PC screen. Copy the files in the camera to your PC to
browse the pictures or play videos from your PC.

(If a memory card is in the camera, all functions will be
memory card related. If you want to use the internal memory,
just remove the external memory card.)
