Cougar Emblem

Anyone ever notice that 2 of the 3 cougar cat embelms have the head coming from the right side and the other has it from the left? i was out lookin at my 84 cougar and noticed. just curious if anyone else has. and if there was a reason for it?

Let me guess. The one facing the wrong way is on the passenger side c-pillar.
My best guess is they didn't want the cougar head to face the rear of the car. Must look forward!! I don't know of any other possible explanation for this.

You found only 3 cat emblems on the entire exterior of your car? I have 9 of them :giggle:

I was just curious. I personally think they went a little overkill with the emblems.

Just makes me that much more frustrated when someone calls my car a T-Bird.:flame:

Yeah, I refer to that as "too much of a good thing."
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"

I disagree...for the first time in many years, Ford actually had something of substance with the Aero Cats. If you got it, flaunt it. ;)

If I'm not mistaked, don't the cat heads on the tail lights face each other?

Well I wasn't including the interior.
I have 10 including the interior since it has the one on the horn.

Does that make any sense? We have so many markings on the outside but the interior doesn't have anything other than the logo on the horn. I'm excuding the SE's of course.

Claude, the cat heads on the tails don't face each other.

SSX, how do you have 11 on the outside of your car? Have one on a window or something?

I had to run outside to check this out.  I thought I knew my car better than that.  Now all the Cougar heads on my car face left with the exception of the Passenger C pillar of course.

Funny thing, the Cougar Head badge under my tripminder faces to the right on my car.

Same with the Blue Max Edition...why, I don't know, other than the company producing them may have gotten them wrong, or Ford told them to make the emblems face the other direction. The 20th Anniversary Edition emblems face left though. And the same company made those emblems...maybe the dude that made the templates was hung over that morning. ;)

Y'all also have to remember that our cars slightly pre-dated the new swooshy Mercury "M" logo that appeared from 1984-on. So the cat heads got precedence. Other than the one version of the Blue Max C-pillar emblem and the odd Freedom Series fender badge, there was never a swooshy "M" emblem on any Fox Cougar. The only reason the Max/Freedom emblems had the "M" was because they were used on other Mercury vehicles. So...Lincoln-Mercury Division = Cougar, Cougar gets cat head emblems instead of the "M", we rule. :D
