The one day I forget my camera at home...

So i'm sitting in my car eating my gas station sandwhich for lunch, I decided to go down the street and park in the 'company' parking lot today for some reason, i'm about half done when this kid from work comes around and pulls in to the space in front of me in his late 70's Z28 (total res-racer).

He gets out and walks over to his passenger front tire, gives it a good look over, a good ole kick and jumps back in. He then puts it in reverse, turns the wheel and blasts backwards, pulls back in then does it again. Once back in the space he does a circle of the car looking everything over, spends some more time looking over the passenger wheel then hops back in.

This time ghe gets about half way back, I notice the car 'jump' a bit and the drivers side front tire rolls out in front of the car and falls over :D the look on his face was absolutly priceless! I almost choked on my sandwhich! He sat there for a good 2 mins staring at his steering wheel before turning it of, getting out, and walking back to work to phone his dad :p

Total Damage: 3 busted lug nuts, one naked stud and one nut bent about 10 degrees off on the end of the stud and one totally dead wheel. as soon as he got accross the street I reach down for my trusty olympus camera only to find I left it on my computer desk last night after transafering some photos. It was still the highlight of my day though.

This is why I need my camera!!

The kid is pretty car-illiterate, he didnt tighten down his lug nuts, a couple lug nuts fell off, a couple lug bolts snapped off and the tire fell off. I talked to him today and I guess its been "clunking for the last week"

WOW! That's so not cool. (Funny he was ch3ecking the wrong tire! LOL)
We had this hapopen after we got new tires on our old van.... the garage didn't tighten the driver's side steer tire, and we were on the interstate when it started 'clunking'. Luckily we got it figured out before we lost a tire while driving.

similar thing happened to my wife after she got an oil change/tire rotation coupon for Tuffy, it was cheap and she was yelling at me to do for so long she went in. she got back from a trip and was like.. my car is making this noise. went out and the back it up about 3 ft and immediatly figured out what it was. man did they hear it from me. had them send out a tow truck and replace all the studs, thankfully the stud holes on the wheel weren't out of whack more than a milimeter or two at the worst
