Engine Block Question

Ok this may be a dumb question and its probably been asked a million times and answered but here we go. Do the roller lifters in a roller block work in a non roller block? If not what all has to be done? I know you would have to get the spider bar and lifter ties as well as probably drill holes for the bolts and tap them. As far as the lifter itself what has to be done to fit or is it just plug and play so to speak?

You will have to run a small base circle cam to run the stock HYD roller lifters. Comp cam sells a kit to swap. You have to be careful trying to tap the block. The cam bearings are directly below the nessacery area to locate the spider correctly.
  Hope this helps

ok what about the aftermarket roller lifters made for engines without factory rollers? would they work the same? Ive noticed they have tie bars built into most of them so you dont have to go to the trouble of putting the spider in and its about the same price as the lifters and spider equipment combined. anyone tried these? and how did you like them?
