Just an Idea

Hey guys and girls. I was talking with another member of the forum last week, we got to talking about seeing if anyone would be interested in setting up a Midwest show for our cars. Before I go any further we arent trying to steal the CatJam idea, Just expand the idea so that other people farther out west who cant make it all the way to Cat Jam could share in the same experience. I for one cant make it due to having to work. I know there's others with similar problems. I think it would be cool to set up a show for the purpose of all of us here in the midwest to the west getting together with our cats and birds and having a blast. Of course it would have to have the Forums vote of approval especially Eric's since he seems to be the one setting up Cat Jam. I dont know it's just an idea to help expand and already brilliant Idea.

No problem with me...so long as it's not the same dates at CJ. ;)

I have an open policy to support anyone that's holding a major show for our cars. I will do what I can to help (promotion on the site, some funding, merchandise, etc.).

However...if you're thinking about doing a show...it would really help if you attended CJ, even without a car, just to see how it's operated and to also get an idea of what goes into the planning. Even a CCOA or other regional show would be a big benefit. A majority of CJ now operates from volunteers, and it's taken 5 years to get to that point. It's not going to be smooth sailing from the start, and every year I promise you that more bumps will be in the road. But that's how you learn. ;)

oh yeah Id deffinately want to find out how it all goes together and all that before even planning a date or even thinking about planning one. It was just an idea I thought was worth tossing up on the board, mainly to make sure no one was gonna get upset about it and also to see if enough people would be interested to even go through all the effort of putting it together. I know of 3 people who like the idea already. And if we do actually start trying to put one together out here I'll go ahead and say Thanks for all the help we're gonna need from people who know whats what.:D

Its slightly what i did in May, but it was a very small showing.

Bane and I need to get together again sometime soon and start planning one for the Maryland/Mid Atlantic area.

We had kinda talked about maybe somewhere in Kansas, maybe as far west as Colorado, maybe even someplace around KC, MO.
So far it's really undecided yet. Open to any and all ideas/locations/date other than Cat Jam

colorado would work well for me. Somewhere like vegas would open it up to lots of people in the far west, But colorado would be a good location I think.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

we're just going to have to sit down and find a central meeting point for everyone coming the first year and then go from there. Cougrrr302 we're gonna have to get together sometime we're both off work and see where we can find with parks and local attractions and stuff.
