Shaving the body moulding

For those of you that have shaved the body side moulding, What do you do about the front and rear bumpers? Is the moulding removable? It looks to me like it is molded into the bumper covers on my 88 sport.

Thanks,
Andrew

I have also shaved the body moulding on my 87 T-Bird, the moulding on the bumpers are in fact part of the bumper skins and cant be removed. I myself am going to paint the car and get the bumbers strips painted to match the body color then buy after market mouldings that are maybe 8 inches long and come to a point or even rounded on the ends to smooth the bumper mouldings out into the body. Thats the plan anyways i quess it depends on finding a moulding that will match widths etc.

im just going to remove whats on the doors, and the little sections before and after the doors, leave the stuff on the fenders on, and paint it all body color
It's Gumby's fault.

A lot of Mustang guys do that too...just take off the stuff between the wheelwells, but leave the rest on.
