Testing the waters for now anyways...85 Cougar GS...

I have recently come to the decision to get something smaller and more efficient on fuel then the cat. Im looking at a couple different cars, The main reasoning for replacing the cat is the Fuel milage in this thing..I might as well have either a V8 or Truck. I need to finish paying it off before i can seriously look at selling it but if i am to replace it it will most likely be early may. Having two projects isnt feasable at this time. and the Cat is turning out to be more then i want to deal with alongside track prepping my Cavi. So at this stage im just seeing who would be interested in it.

OutlawZ24,
Hey, man, I thought I remembered someone with an '85/'86 Cougar and went back a page and found your post.  I have a couple questions.  One, where do you live?  I guess I should start out with, is the car still for sale?  The one picture I saw looked like a fairly low-optioned car; is that right?  Hubcaps and no passenger mirror.  What kind of options does it have?  I'm assuming it's got a V6.  You mention poor mileage.  What is it getting?  How many miles?  Rust?  Everything work?  Sorry for all the questions.  I may be replacing my '83 LS and don't see many '83/'86 Cougars on here for sale.  Thanks for the info.

Yes it still avalable. When i made that post initially i was just testing the waters...but now it is for certian for sale because i found a nice little truck i want to get my hands on. And the milage isnt all that bad on the highway. I just made a 1300 KM round trip with it on the weekend and only spent about $160 doing it. Im located in Lloydminster Sask Canada.

The car is as you remembered it. It is a low optioned GS with the full console. And AC and the Tape deck are about the only options it has. Recently did a stereo install in it so all the wires are ran for a sub and amp. Depending on how the timing works out between selling it and getting the truck it may or may not come with the Sony tape deck thats in the truck. Otherwise it will just have the stock tape deck and the adaptor harness and kit for an aftermarket deck.

I have also determined what im asking for it as well.. Im looking to get around $700 or best offer for it. i will be installing a pair of tires on the rear soon since they are mismatched as well as the fact that one came off of my cavalier when i had a flat and the other is a junkyard tire from when i had a blow out on the trip. The main thing the car needs is an exhaust and a good tune up. As well as some mild rust repairs.
