Woohoo, got promoted!

Well, starting next Mon. I'm the head wrench at the salvage yard...

Now, you ask yourselves...just what the hell does that mean, being the main mechanic at a JUNKYARD???
Well, since my employer is not JUST a junkyard, as we also install engines and transmissions in vehicles, and have a body shop, and will very soon (like, next week,) have a NEW tire machine, and the regular engine/trans. guy is leaving after Friday this week, I'm going to get his job...not bad for my 4th week, eh?
Anyway, my pay'll double, and I'll get tool purchase assistance, in addition to the discount I already get for whatever parts I need/want to buy...
I just hope I can hack it, but they have faith in me, so I think it'll be alright...
I can also use their lift, and engine puller to do my engine swap with...:D

it's good to see that someone who seems to know what they are doing is able to get ahead because too many idiots are the head of many things..... hey being the head wrench at JUST a junkyard is an accomplishment in itself..... good luck!

LOL, glad some people have faith in me, hahahaha :giggle:
Nahh, I'm still kind of overwhelmed by it all.
Been looking at tools, too. Found a really nice monstrous toolbox at a local hardware store, gonna try and save a few bucks for it, as well as some more tools, and some air tools.
I've had some experience with auto mechanics, but not as a job, like this. I've rebuilt 2 engines for myself, and both ran well afterwards, in addition to farm machinery repair on mine and dad's farms.
It isn't like I've never even picked up a wrench before, lol.
Right now, my biggest obstacle is my lack of speacialty tools, but we'll be working on that.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

yeah, I might, if I can keep from buying them all myself!

Nah, only thing left that i really wanna get is the 5.0, and harness, but if i can find my harness, I'm more than likely gonna swap in a Stang HO, with mass air, I know where a wrecked '92 GT is, just got to find out if it's for sale or what the deal is...
