When the trans went he had a Mustang AOD laying around, but that pretty much required the floor shifter, so he put that in at the same time as the transmission. It's a bit crooked but I got it looking halfway decent. I didn't have the metal support for it either...so, you make do with what you have. I personally like the flush mount look myself.
