I've got the fake wood dash, I wouldn't change it for anything.

Let's see now... the aftermarket is absolutely flooded with dash parts for 87-93 Mustangs. Clusters, s, gauge mounts - anything you'd ever want in a car dash you can get for a Mustang.

85-88 T-Birds and Cougars, however, have absolutely no aftermarket support other than an Indiglo gauge kit or two, and even they are only available for 85MPH speedos or base digital clusters. Not only that, but we can't even get stock replacement parts for our dahses when something breaks.

As much as I like the styling of the 85-88 dash (and indeed, I even contemplated it when I was thinking about buying a 4-cyl Mustang convertible to drop my 2.3t into), I think installing one in a Mustang is a step backward. Hell, I'd rather install a Mustang dash, either Fox or SN95, into my car - at least I'd have some aftermarket choices...

Y'all remember RPM Overlays? This guy (Mark) is the owner. He'd told me about this setup but I never saw it until now. Considering he had the very bland pre-1987 dash in that car originally, this dash is a huge upgrade. I applaud the fact that he got all the functions of the cluster to work. The dash does look a little out of place but whatever...to each his own...

Here's what I did with the woodgrain in my 20th, I used color changing paint:D . It almost matches the outside perfectly. Never really got into woodgrain trim, of course my 20th isn't show quality:hick: .

Well, that dash brought back some memories Cougarman. I painted the dash in my 85 T-bird Duplicolor Hi-temp silver. It looked good back then, but I would cut aluminum in lays for it now if I had it.

Probably available '85-'88, but I'm not sure.  It's the same cluster (full digital) my '87 LS has.

Looks just like my dash.......
I may have a project in  the works.  I know where there is a wrecked '95 Mustang Cobra with a good dash.  Anyone know how much of a difference width-wise there is between the two?

My one question about this whole thing is "Why?" Our dashes are hardly anything to get excited about.  I'd swap a 97's dash in long before I'd do something like ours.  *ugh*

My guess would be because the dude with the Mustang wanted to.

I've always liked my full digital dash. I think it makes the car just a little more unique plus everyone who gets in my car for the first time thinks it's the neatest thing they've ever seen;)

Me too.  I have had a V8 buttstuffog cluster sitting on a shelf in the garage for a few years now and I just can't bring myself to install it.  There's just something about the full digital cluster that has a sort of an 80s high tech cool vibe.
