No cruise anymore.

So i drove home for christmas to Minot about 300 miles from fargo cruise set at 85 the whole way there after about 200 miles on the return trip though the cruise just quit, at first i thought i hit the button or the brake by accident but no my cruise control just quit working. Havent checked the fuse yet too cold outside any other ideas guys?

No cruise anymore.

I think there are several weak spots for the cruise system.
Check the easy stuff first: fuse, cable, connection at the TB, etc.
One of the common weak points is the set of brass contact rings on the back of the steering wheel. They tend to corrode, lose contact, become loose.
When mine died in my '88 I had gone over everything. As a last resort, I swapped the servo from an '87 in the junkyard. It worked just fine until I sold it.

No cruise anymore.

When my 20th did that it was the cable. It runs from the cruise module in the driver side fender up to the throttle linkage. It has a ball on the end that just popped off and so the cable was unable to hold onto the cruise module. I ordered a new cable assembly from Ford. It cost $53 and was relatively simple to install.

Not saying that is your problem, but it could be something to check if your fuses are all good. To get to the cruise module you have to remove the left front wheel and splash guard. The module is protected by a rubber skirt. It is mounted on the door side of the fender well, IIRC.

No cruise anymore.

Yep, mine ended up being the cable with the exact same symptoms. Might not hurt to check the brass rings though first, mine died a long time ago so I found a nice set and reinforced them with hot glue with no porblems since. If your cable and rings are fine and you need a servo, I have one sitting around that should be fine (at least if my parents didn't trash it when they moved). I took the cable from it to fix my broken one.
