A very unproductive weekend

I'm getting ready right now to go " 'round-da-bay " to my fathers for a weekend of snowmobiling. I have the snowmobile on the trailer and all I have to do now is get the trailer licenced and pack my bags.

This is probably my last chance to go for a trip this year. I'll be back Monday evening...with pictures hopefully.

Whoaaa Nelly!!  Too big a pic.  I have dialup, but I'd love to see those pictures.

We had a light dusting of snow at about 6am yesterday but by 7am it was melted.  Right now it is 40 out, and about an hour ago it was 30.  Hopefully it gets warmer out, say to the tune of 60 again.

Here are the pictures in a smaller format.

The first is a SS of the trip according to my GPS: We left home at 9:00AM and got back at 6:00PM travelling 128.28 miles. We had a beautiful day, as you can see from the pictures.

The second is me coming down the trail going between two ponds.

The third is at the start of Home Pond - 7 mile to the other end.

Three more: 1, Cousin Boyd, Mark's new skidoo, and myself at one end of Home Pond. 2, Boyd and Mark. 3, Cabin on home pond with White Birch trees.

The first two are pictures of a couple brooks along the trail. The third is a picture of all six of us in front of the brook. Hmmm! I think the lens may have been fogged up in that one.

Looks like a good time was had by all. We had a good time this weekend too, but it looks like snowmobiling is finished for the year now - the 6" of snow that was on the ground is rapidly melting. Kinda ironic that my parents' first trip of the year will be their last :p

BTW: Home pond? 7 miles? 'Round here we call those things "lakes" :D

Everything here are called ponds except Gander Lake and Exploits River. As the old newfie joke goes...a lake is what you got in yer rubber boot when yer foot gets wet!
