i had an idea February 17, 2006, 12:31:42 AM a few years ago i saw some footage from an old nascar race and i decided that a street leagal version of those thunderbirds would be cool. then when i first started trying to get my car i had planned on doing that to it but now i dont want to because its in too good of shape to destroy it. so my idea is i want to get a stripped thunderbird (prefferably still in almost drivable condidtion but the interrior trashed) and make it look like a nascar from back in the day. so what do you guyes think? wouldnt it be cool to drive around town in a street leagal nascar. i know it would be alot of work but i think it will be fun. i had an idea Reply #4 – February 17, 2006, 02:11:49 AM I'm about 90% sure that there was an old Nascar-style painted T-bird on ebay a while back. Quote Selected
i had an idea Reply #5 – February 17, 2006, 02:22:43 AM I've seen more than one...besides the one I posted, awhile back I saw pics of some '87-88 Turbo Coupe somebody found in a junkyard that was painted up exactly like the old Texaco nascar thunderbird. I guess people liked the texaco car. Quote Selected
i had an idea Reply #7 – February 17, 2006, 07:49:15 AM Yes people like the Texaco car, but probably Davy Allison more. A true legend in my eyes. plus we share the same b-day. Feb. 25th Quote Selected
i had an idea Reply #8 – February 17, 2006, 07:53:17 AM My buddy was wanting to do that to My 84 T/C until I got it from him. But with the right car it would be cool but not a turbo coupe. Quote Selected
i had an idea Reply #9 – February 17, 2006, 08:10:41 AM I always wanted to do that to an 87 or 88, make one like the Texaco car that Davey raced in...It would for sure get people looking at it. Quote Selected

i had an idea Reply #13 – February 17, 2006, 04:08:42 PM I was seriously considering this for the 80' before it goes to the wrecker, case of beer and a case of spraypaint. Figured I might give it another week on the road, the interior is getting stripped anyway, it'll look authentic lol Quote Selected
