Actually in Palmetto there is a 87 XR7 for 1500.  Its a dark blue color.  I wanted it but had to jet back to ohio to soon to pick it up.  I'm sure its still there.  One of those mom and pop dealers.  I'm sure you could talk them down to about 800 or 900.
One 88

I wonder if there is a way I could rent a trailer or something.  600-800 bucks is quite a bit.

Yeah, this place and Cougarnuts.com are my home base.

I've got a couple black 88 XR-7s you can see at my CarDomain page and my web site listed below my sig.

Several people here have actually converted from AOD to 5-speed using Ford parts.

You can also see pictures of the 86 XR-7 that is for sale at my web site and there are pictures showing the rust.  It's at the bottom of the doors.

I'm not sure what is wrong with the AC exactly, it has probably leaked out through dried up seals and parts.

Id like to do the swap, just dont have the expertise or really a good spot to do it..me and buddy swapped AODs a while back and that was hell.

if your serious about the trailor thing let me know. as i have a couple people saying they have TCs available locally...but id rather have a cougar as im a cougar guy at heart

Yeah, stay with Cougar.  There are fewer of them around anyway so we have to hold on to what we can.

I have to see about a way of making this car easily available to those farther away than MD, southern PA and northern VA.

It's almost 1000 miles from here to there.  Meeting halfway would still require 1000-mile round trip for each of us but would be better than 2000-mile round trip for one of us.
